The Virgin Blue - Tracy Chevalier

The Virgin Blue by Tracy Chevalier

I picked up both of Chevalier's other books because I liked "Girl with a Pearl Earring" and "The Lady and the Unicorn" so much.

This is her first novel and not based on a piece of art like the other two I've read so far. It is the story of a woman in 1560 France and then one of her decendents in 1980s(?) France. I really enjoyed it -- it swapped back and forth between narrators and it had an interesting supernatural aspect to it. I would highly recommend Chevalier books to anyone.

Wahooo!!!

THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL IS GOING TO BE A MOVIE!!!

OK, now that I've thought about it, I'm not quite so excited ... I hope they do a good job with it -- Kiera Knightly is going to be Ann -- I wonder who will be Mary ...
